My last post's wishes didn't come true. Well, 1 out of 4 did.
My sweetie came safely home.
but,
the rain didn't stop,
my clogs are more wet,
and the sun will not be shining today.
Since yesterday afternoon our neighborhood has had 10" of rain.
School and swim team have been canceled, the bayou that runs by our house is cresting, and there's more on its way.
The only thing on my TO-DO list today is to make some of these.
These linen, drawstring bread bags have been on my TO-DO list for weeks now.
Nothing is sadder than putting a loaf of fresh, whole wheat bread in a plastic, zipper bag.
I think these will do the trick quite nicely. And what a nice way to GIFT a loaf of bread. Or cookies, or rolls, or anything.

I have a sudden hankering to bake . . .
Oh yum Jenn. Those look really good. Sounds like a raining time of it over there. Wow. I hope that it doesn't crest over.
Take care.
Those are perfect! I wouldn't have thought of putting bread into a linen sack.
Did you go splash in the puddles ? :)
Yumm--I'm glad you are so resilient!
This is exactly what I love about blogging. Great idea...and how easy to whip up.
Jenn, I swear you must have some Martha Stewart blood running through your veins. But tempered with lots and lots of pure loving and sweet blood.
I heard how much rain you guys are getting!! Hope the sun comes out soon.
Those bags are a great idea. I have issues with putting it in plastic bags too.
I'm on the flip side of that: I've been staring at my freshly (well, not so fresh now) ground whole wheat & yeast all week long. It's been begging me to make it into a loaf.
Now a nice linen bag would really top it all off. Great idea!
Oooooo, that would be such a nice gift. do you need my address??
just dresses things up so nicely.
Love the idea. I think I will make some up. m
